At Bark & Brass, our mission is simple: bring you honest, down-to-earth reviews and real-world insight on the outdoor gear that fuels your life outside.

We cover the stuff people actually use — firearms, archery equipment, fishing tackle, hunting gear, camping tools, survival essentials, dog gear, and anything else that belongs in the truck, the woods, the boat, the range bag, or beside the back door waiting for the next adventure.

We’re not here to shove junk at you. We’re not here to scare you into buying something. And we’re definitely not here to pretend every product is life-changing just because somebody slapped a fancy label on it.

We tell it straight.

If something works, we’ll say so.
If something feels cheap, overhyped, uncomfortable, complicated, or not worth the money, we’ll say that too.

Around here, gear has to earn its spot.

And because dogs are family at Bark & Brass, they’re part of the story too.

Willie, our Golden Retriever, has been one of the original faces of the brand — loyal, goofy, opinionated, and always ready to supervise anything involving food, mud, water, or someone opening a package.

We also have Liberty, our second Golden Retriever, who brings a whole new level of energy, chaos, and joy to the pack. She’s young, curious, and fully convinced that every day is her personal outdoor adventure.

And then there’s Lola.

Lola, our Australian Silky Terrier, passed away last year, but she will always be part of Bark & Brass. She may have been small, but she had more attitude than most dogs three times her size. Lola helped shape the heart of this page, this brand, and this family. We don’t forget dogs like that. We carry them with us.

So this place is built around real people, real gear, real opinions, and good dogs — past and present.
